Mixed Media

For an exhibition in Singapore in January 2014 Yuna Bert developed a set of hybrid creations using several techniques and materials, including silk, fabrics from clothing or fashion accessories made by leading designers (Prada, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, etc. ..). These paintings represent fish, as well as butterflies and birds. In the case of the paintings depicting butterflies, the artist uses silk (which denotes a cultural link with Asia) and acrylic. In the manner of a fashion designer, she uses translucent tracing paper, patterns, and pieces of fabric, which colours of strongly Asian connotation.
